Head of Operations & Technology

Our first production plant went online this summer, enabling us to serve our customers first-hand in the huge and fast-growing plant protein market. In addition, further capacity expansions have already been decided. To support these exciting challenges we are looking for an experienced

Head of Operations & Technology

Your tasks
  • Interim plant manager of our Hungarian production company (min. 1 year activity focus in Northern Hungary for start-up support and know-how building on site in our first plant)
  • (Technical) optimization of the first production line regarding food safety, capacity / costs, product quality
  • Project management of the first plant expansion in Q3 2022
  • Perspective: Take over the overall responsibility in the Sunbloom Group for Operations from our location in Munich. This includes planning and realization of further production lines or plants e.g. global production footprint strategy, technology and supplier selection, scale-up testing, project management for installation and commissioning.

Your profile:

  •  University degree in process engineering, mechanical / chemical engineering or comparable
  • Solid management experience in a food company (or comparable industry)
  • Very good language skills in Hungarian as well as German or English mandatory
  • Strong communication skills on both store floor and management level
  • Ability to integrate into a multicultural team
  • Willingness to travel (especially Hungary)
  • Enthusiasm for plant-based foods

Commodity Manager Sunflower Seeds and Oils (buy and sell side) - m/f/d

Your tasks:

 

Strategic Sourcing of Sunflower Kernels

You closely work together with our quality assurance and food technologist to improve the requirements regarding kernel selection for our production process, considering nutritional profile, functionality and food quality aspects.

Based on this, you will review and modify our supplier listing criteria and screen the market for suitable suppliers (both farers and producers), aiming at building long term relationships to ensure a robust, highly reliable and traceable raw material supply chain.

You are responsible for leading the supplier selection process including negotiation of frame contracts, performance measurement and supplier development.

Furthermore you will lead strategic projects related to raw material selection and sourcing in collaboration with universities and seed producers.

Business development Sunflower Oils

You will gather a deep understanding of edible oils in terms of its composition, nutritional benefits and market needs.

Based on this, you develop the sales side of our by oil by-products (both commodity raw oil and speciality native oils), identify new markets and customers in food markets, or – if applicable- other industries such as e.g. cosmetics.

 

Your profile:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in food technology / agricultural engineering or similar is required
  • Min 3 years’ experience in the field of commodity buying or sales
  • Excellent customer focus, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to integrate into a multicultural team.
  • Willingness to travel
  • Fluent in German and English, any other language (especially Hungarian or Bulgarian) is an advantage.

Technical Sales Manager Plant Proteins (m/f/d)

Your tasks:

Interface between head of sales and application development at Sunbloom

You will closely work together with our head of sales and head of application development in preparation, participating and following up customer meetings. This includes preparation of presentations with application concepts, performing application trials and preparing application samples and supporting the customer’s R&D department in technical questions.

Technical expertise and support

You will support, work with and understand customer needs and requirements with regard to technical application and product requirements, and in so doing find areas where Sunbloom as a business can add value or develop solutions to grow and develop our existing and future customer base.

New customer acquisition and existing customer care

Build new acquisitions to feed our sales pipeline, as well as assist in maintaining and growing existing customers via technical support (onsite and remote) and activity. Support our sales and application team by preparing and following up customer presentations. You will assist in marketing and sales activities by presenting SUNBLOOM at trade fairs, congresses and other events.

Market analysis

You will gather market intelligence and that will ensure sales and market competitiveness is constantly up to date. This will include product knowledge, competitor intelligence and trend feedback such as identifying new sales targets. In addition, you will feedback processes that will define and continuously improve the technical sales processes with regard to application and product characteristics.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in food technology / food engineering is required
  • Min 2 years’ experience in the field of technical sales of plant based ingredients, ideally in the field of alternative proteins
  • Excellent customer focus and communication skills.
  • Ability to integrate into a multicultural team.
  • Professional PowerPoint skills
  • Willingness to travel
  • Enthusiasm for plant-based food
  • Fluent in German and English, any other language (especially Spanish) is an advantage

Project Manager / CEO assistance (m/f/d) part-time (full-time perspective)

You support the CEO in all strategic and operative matters regarding
  • Strategic projects, e.g: - Introduction of Sales & Operations Planning (comparison of forecast of sales quantities with capacities and stocks of our production plant in Hungary - Raw material sourcing: identification & selection of our raw material suppliers - Supervision of certifications
  • Preparation of applications for grnats & subsidies
  • Alignment and continuous improvement of organisation & processes in general
  • Preparation and follow-up of advisory board meetings and shareholders' meetings
  • Creation of customer presentations
  • Assistance with other operational tasks

Your qualification:

  • Bachelors degree or higher
  • Min. 3 years professional experience in a renowned management consultancy
  • Excellent MS Office skills (esp. Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Fluent German and English
  • Very structured and analytical working method
  • High motivation and initiative
  • Ability to familiarise oneself quickly with new subject areas and willingness to develop new subject areas and advance them independently
  • Experience in the food industry is an advantage
